Eligibility: A Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Technical Examination Board, Gujarat, or a recognised institution), or a Diploma in Automobile Engineering is also accepted. Candidates also need basic knowledge of computer applications and adequate knowledge of Gujarati, Hindi, or both.
Exam Pattern: A competitive examination by CBRT or OMR — Part A 90 marks (Reasoning and Data Interpretation 30, Quantitative Aptitude 30, Constitution / Current Affairs / Gujarati and English Comprehension 30) and Part B Mechanical subjects 120 marks. Total 210 questions, 210 marks, 180 minutes, with 1/4 mark deducted for a wrong answer. A minimum of 40% separately in Part A and Part B is required.
