What Is the Mukhyamantri Seekho Kamao Yojana?
Mukhyamantri Seekho Kamao Yojana (MMSKY) is a skill development scheme of the Madhya Pradesh government. Its aim is simple — not just to teach young people in a classroom, but to place them in a real company, factory, shop or institution so they learn a trade by actually doing the work, and to pay them a monthly stipend while they learn.
Normally, training means — first pay a fee, then study, then look for a job. This scheme works the other way round — you learn on the job and you earn while you learn. On completing the training you also receive a certificate, along with real work experience, which is the most valuable thing when you look for a job later.
The scheme is run by the Madhya Pradesh State Skill Development and Employment Generation Board (MPSSDEGB) and the Technical Education Department. Thousands of young people have already benefited, and crores of rupees in stipend have been sent directly to their accounts.
How Much Stipend Will You Get Every Month?
The stipend depends on your education level. Higher qualification means a higher stipend:
| Your qualification | Monthly stipend | Approx. per year |
|---|---|---|
| Class 12 pass | ₹8,000 | ₹96,000 |
| ITI pass | ₹8,500 | ₹1,02,000 |
| Diploma holder | ₹9,000 | ₹1,08,000 |
| Graduate or above | ₹10,000 | ₹1,20,000 |
Please note: 75% of the stipend is paid by the government and at least 25% by the establishment where you train. The money comes every month through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) into your Aadhaar-linked bank account.
To receive the stipend you need at least 75% attendance every month. If your attendance falls below 75% in a month, that month’s stipend can be withheld. So attending training regularly is the most important rule of this scheme.
Who Can Apply? (Eligibility)
Check that you meet all the conditions before applying:
- You must be a permanent resident of Madhya Pradesh.
- Your age must be between 18 and 29 years.
- You must have passed at least Class 12. ITI, diploma and graduate youth can also apply.
- You must be unemployed — not working in any job.
- You must have a Samagra ID (the family identity number of Madhya Pradesh).
- You must have an Aadhaar-linked mobile number and bank account, because e-KYC and DBT payment depend on them.
Who Cannot Apply?
- Anyone who is not a permanent resident of Madhya Pradesh.
- Anyone younger than 18 or older than 29.
- Anyone who has not passed Class 12.
- Anyone already employed in a government or private job.
- Anyone who has already completed training once under this scheme (check the portal for the exact rule — the benefit is generally available once).
In Which Courses and Sectors Can You Train?
The scheme covers more than 700 courses across 46+ sectors. Some major sectors are:
- IT and computers: data entry, software support, digital marketing
- Electronics and electrical: mobile repairing, electrician work
- Mechanical and manufacturing: machine operator, welding, fitter work
- Banking and finance: banking assistant, accounting
- Hospitality and tourism: hotel, restaurant and tourism-related work
- Healthcare: nursing assistant, lab technician
- Retail and sales: sales work in shops and showrooms
- Agriculture and food processing: modern farming techniques
On the portal you can choose a course and establishment as per your district, qualification and interest. The training takes place at the establishment you selected and which selected you.
Which Documents Do You Need?
Keep these documents ready before applying online:
- Samagra ID — the most important document
- Aadhaar card — for e-KYC
- Class 12 / ITI / Diploma / Graduation marksheet — proof of qualification
- Madhya Pradesh residence proof — such as the address linked to your Samagra ID
- Bank account details — linked with Aadhaar (copy of passbook)
- Mobile number — linked with Aadhaar (for OTP)
- Passport-size photo
- Caste certificate — if applicable
How to Apply Online? (Step-by-Step)
Step 1: Open the official portal mmsky.mp.gov.in. Do not fall for any other website or agent — applications are accepted only on this portal.
Step 2: On the homepage, click on “Candidate Registration”.
Step 3: Enter your Samagra ID and verify it with OTP. If you do not have a Samagra ID, get one made first from the Samagra portal.
Step 4: Complete Aadhaar e-KYC — an OTP will come to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
Step 5: Fill in your profile — name, address, education details, mobile number and bank account details.
Step 6: Upload the required documents — marksheet, Aadhaar card and photo.
Step 7: Choose your preferred courses and establishments — you can filter by your district and qualification.
Step 8: Submit the form. You will get a registration number — keep it safe.
Step 9: The establishments you chose will review your profile and select candidates. After selection, an online contract is created on the portal and the training start date is fixed.
Step 10: Once training begins, the stipend starts coming to your account every month, based on your attendance.
Registration is completely free. If anyone asks for money to get you registered or trained, it is a fraud — report it on the helpline immediately.
How Is Training Allotted? The Full Process
Many young people think training starts as soon as they register. The real process is slightly different — and understanding it matters:
- First, establishments join the portal and state how many trainees they need and for which work.
- Then candidates register and choose their preferred courses and establishments.
- Establishments review the candidates’ profiles and select them.
- After selection, an online contract is created between the candidate and the establishment on the portal.
- Then the training start date is fixed and training begins.
So after registering, be patient and keep checking your status on the portal from time to time.
When and How Will You Get the Stipend?
- The stipend comes every month into your Aadhaar-linked bank account through DBT.
- At least 75% attendance every month is compulsory.
- 75% of the stipend is paid by the government and 25% by the establishment.
- Your attendance and progress are recorded on the portal during training.
- If the money does not arrive, first check your status on the portal, then contact the helpline 0755-2525258 or email mmsky-mp@mp.gov.in.
MMSKY Mobile App
The scheme’s official mobile app is available on Google Play Store and Apple App Store. From the app you can register, check your status and get updates about new training opportunities. Download the app only from the official store — never download an APK from a link.
Do Not Confuse It With Maharashtra’s Scheme
Please note — the Maharashtra government also runs a similar-sounding scheme called Mukhyamantri Yuva Karya Prashikshan Yojana (CMYKPY). In that scheme, Class 12 pass candidates get ₹6,000, ITI/Diploma holders ₹8,000 and graduates ₹10,000, and its portal is different — cmykpy.mahaswayam.gov.in. If you are a resident of Madhya Pradesh, apply only on mmsky.mp.gov.in. Applying on the wrong portal will only waste your time.
Stay Safe From Fraud — Remember These Points
- Do not pay even one rupee to anyone for registration or training — the entire process is free.
- Apply only on mmsky.mp.gov.in — do not apply through links received on WhatsApp or Telegram.
- Never share your Samagra ID, Aadhaar OTP or bank details with any unknown person.
- Claims like “guaranteed job” or “stipend without training” are completely fake.
- If in any doubt, call the helpline 0755-2525258.
