What Is Ladli Behna Yojana?

The Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana is the Madhya Pradesh government’s biggest women welfare scheme. It was launched in March 2023 by then Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The goal is to make women self-reliant by giving them direct monthly financial help — the money goes into the woman’s own bank account, not the household head’s account.

When the scheme started, women received Rs 1,000 per month. In October 2023 it was raised to Rs 1,250, and now every eligible woman gets Rs 1,500 per month. So far, more than Rs 55,000 crore has been sent to women’s accounts under this scheme. The state cabinet has approved the scheme’s continuation for the next five years without any break.

The Journey from Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500

The scheme’s amount has not been the same since the start — it has been raised in stages. When it launched in March 2023, women got Rs 1,000 every month. In October 2023 it was increased to Rs 1,250. Later it was raised to Rs 1,500 per month, which continues today.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has promised to raise this amount in phases to Rs 3,000 per month by 2028. That means the help Ladli Behnas receive could double in the coming years. We will update this article as soon as every hike is officially announced, so you always get the correct information first.

When Will the 41st Installment Come?

Now the biggest question — what is the date of the 41st installment? The truth is that the official date for the 41st installment has not been announced yet. But looking at the pattern so far, the Rs 1,500 installment is expected to be sent to beneficiaries’ accounts between October 10 and 15.

Usually the Ladli Behna installment arrives around the 10th of every month, though the date shifted slightly in the last few months. Before the installment is released, make sure your bank account is in your own name, linked with Aadhaar, and your e-KYC is complete — so the payment does not get stuck.

Warning: Do not trust messages on social media claiming a “confirmed 41st installment date”. If someone asks for your OTP or bank details on the phone, never share them — the government never asks for OTP on calls.

Previous Installments — the 39th and 40th

39th installment (19 August 2026): Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav released the 39th installment from Maihar. This time women received a Rs 250 Raksha Bandhan bonus along with the regular Rs 1,500 — a total of Rs 1,750 in their accounts. More than Rs 2,148 crore was distributed in this installment.

40th installment (13 September 2026): The 40th installment was released from Agar Malwa, with Rs 1,835 crore sent through DBT to more than 1.25 crore women.

These numbers make it clear the scheme is running at full speed, with money reaching over 1.25 crore sisters every month.

Ladli Behna Yojana Status Check — How to See Payment Status

The most reliable way to know whether your installment arrived is the official portal:

  1. First, open the official website cmladlibahna.mp.gov.in.
  2. On the homepage, click “आवेदन एवं भुगतान की स्थिति” (Application and Payment Status).
  3. Enter your Samagra ID or application number.
  4. Verify with the OTP received on your registered mobile number.
  5. Your payment history for all months will appear on the screen.

The direct status page link is: cmladlibahna.mp.gov.in/LBYApplicationStatus.aspx. The portal shows month-wise when each installment was sent to your account.

Installment Not Received? These Could Be the Reasons

1. Incomplete e-KYC — e-KYC on the Samagra portal is mandatory. If e-KYC is not done or bank details changed, the payment gets stuck. Complete your e-KYC at the nearest Anganwadi centre or Gram Panchayat.

2. Broken Aadhaar-DBT link — The money comes only to the account in the woman’s own name and linked with Aadhaar. Visit your bank and confirm the DBT link.

3. Error in Samagra ID — The application is tied to the Samagra ID. If there is a mistake in the name or birth date in the Samagra ID, verification gets troubled.

4. Name removed due to ineligibility — If the family income crossed Rs 2.5 lakh, or a family member got a government job, the name can be removed from the list. Check the reason on the portal.

Who Is Eligible for This Scheme?

  • Women who are permanent residents of Madhya Pradesh
  • Married women — widowed, divorced and abandoned women are also included
  • Age 21 to 60 years (as of 1 January of the application year)
  • Annual family income below Rs 2.5 lakh
  • Family should not own more than 5 acres of agricultural land

Who Will NOT Get the Benefit?

  • Women whose family member is an income tax payer
  • Women whose family member is a regular government employee or pensioner
  • Families owning a four-wheeler (other than a tractor)
  • Women already getting Rs 1,250 or more per month from another government scheme
  • Families where a member is an MP, MLA, or an elected representative (other than sarpanch/up-sarpanch)

Why Is Samagra ID So Important?

In the Ladli Behna Yojana, the Samagra ID is the most important document — there is no application without it. The Samagra ID is the Madhya Pradesh government’s family database number, which connects every family member. At the time of application, the woman’s Samagra ID, Aadhaar card and bank account are linked together.

If there is an error in the name, birth date or address in your Samagra ID, get it corrected first — wrong information stalls verification and the installment can stop. The e-KYC linked to Samagra ID happens at Anganwadi centres or Gram Panchayats, where a live photograph is also taken.

Documents Required

  • Samagra ID (mandatory)
  • Aadhaar card
  • Registered mobile number
  • Bank account in the woman’s own name, Aadhaar-linked with DBT enabled
  • Live photo and e-KYC at the application centre
